This programme aims to produce graduates who are empowered with the skills and knowledge sought by employers in today’s competitive markets. The programme covers the theory, practice and application of information technology (IT) in a modern business environment.

The programme acts as the 3rd year of the NCC Education degree journey, building on the knowledge and skills introduced by the International Diploma in Computer Studies (IDCS) and the International Advanced Diploma in Computer Studies (IADCS). It results in an honours degree awarded by the University of Greenwich.

Program Structure

The programme is made up of six 15-credit modules, each of which requires an average of 150 hours of study, around 40 of which are based in the classroom. It also includes a 30-credit Project module in which the student conducts a piece of independent work resulting in a substantial written report.

With the exception of the Project module, modules are assessed by a written examination, which accounts for 70% of the module’s mark, and a coursework assignment, which makes up the remaining 30% of the module’s mark. The Project module is assessed by the project report and the quality of processes followed by the student.

Successful students will be awarded a classified BSc (Hons) in Business Information Technology. Classification will be based on a student’s performance in modules. Honours degree classifications are first, upper second, lower second and third.

Advancement

  • The qualification is designed to provide entry into a wide range of IT-related careers. Examples include business analysis, systems design, database development, database administration and website development.
  • Graduates are qualified to apply for a wide range of postgraduate programmes with universities around the world. Graduates are eligible to enter the NCC Education Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Business IT, which offers progression onto the MSc in Strategic Business IT awarded by the University of Hertfordshire.

Entry Requirement - International Advanced Diploma in Computer Studies
The entry-level qualifications are as follows:

  • NCC Education International Advanced Diploma in Computer Studies (IADCS), or equivalent qualification agreed in advance by the University of Greenwich and NCC Education
  • IELTS score of 6.5 under the entry requirements
